May 13, 2007 at 5:22 amHi, RedEye.
Thanks for reporting this.
I could reproduce the problem, and you’re right.
Let me say this:1) If nothing stranges comes up, a fix will surely be in the final release.
2) There’s really nothing you can do with the Path Text effect that can’t be done with text animator groups (please see below). For position/rotation/scale kerning jitter (as found in Path Text), you could create a text animator with those properties and use a wiggly selector so that the animator values are… wiggled. For the text on a path thing itself, just create a mask on the text layer, and then select that mask path in the text layer Path property. Of course, this doesn’t mean that Motion Blur with Path text shouldn’t be fixed.
3) Motion Blur in AE CS3 is drastically improved. It is now adaptive for 2D animation and text animators (in other words, it can dynamically pick the amount of motion blur samples needed for producing super smooth MB in each segment) and for all other types of animation (for example, any form of 3D animation and intralayer motion), you can freely raise the number of MB samples (it can go up to 255!). No more visible MB steps!
All these settings are in the Advanced pane of Comp settings.Adolfo Rozenfeld

May 13, 2007 at 8:50 amThanks Adolfo, good point about doing it the new way, only thing is the path text and jitter have a nice looking ease in/out without having to do anything which is always a plus.
Time to move up to the new way of doing things with MB as it does look very smooth.mmmmm
