I am a producer with a Public Access Channel. I am looking to improve the channel and had a few questions.

We are searching for a new broadcast automation system and are considering Leightronix Nexus. Any thoughts?

Also I am wondering how to improve our video quality. We are currently using Canon XL A1 cameras and shooting DV with them. I would like to start shooting HDV with them and upload them to our system in the highest quality I can. How does a channel start showing HD video? It seems most systems just take mpeg 2.

Also am I stuck with 4:3? What are my options with moving to 16:9. If I shoot HDV my footage is 16:9… do I just have to enlarge my video to fit the 4:3 frame?

Sorry for all the questions….I am rookie when it come to broadcasting.

    Noah,

    if i were u, i would go full hd (1080i/24p)or 29.95fps

hdv is compressed Hd, only amatures and film student use it. Not professional broadcasters.

Even though Hd is much more expensive, u will have more flexibility asthetically and technically.

    the image quality is unbeatable.

    hope this helps
