Broadcast Safe Levels
I just finished editing and color correcting a project on my Mac Pro using DVCPro HD 1080i60 as my sequence settings. All the shots show that they are broadcast legal after rendering (in some cases I used the broadcast safe filter but in most I used the 3 way CC). In order for me to lay the project off to tape I had to make a master QT from the project sequence and take it to another Mac that has the HD deck hooked to it (I exported using “Current settings”).
Here’s the issue…
Whenever I bring the Quicktime into a sequence almost all of the white levels are now illegal. Even if I import the master QT into the same project the levels show up illegal. Any suggestions?

The render settings for the sequence, are they set for 8-bit or 32-bit high precision?
if its set for 32 bit, make it 8 bit.
what version of fcp are you using?

I have the latest version of FCP. I did change the render settings to be high precision YUV. I’ll try the 8-bit and see if that works.

High precision YUV causes problems and actually doesn’t improve anything really.
I bet your ok after reverting to 8-bit.

Changing the timeline to render 8-bit didn’t work. Still have the same problem. Any more ideas/suggestions? I’m stuck!
