im trying to get the best image quality for broadcasting….
my sttings are 720×480 and 29.97fps drop-frame. it seems like sometimes when my video pans it need to be de-interlaced but i capture by drag & drop from hard drive news camera (avi format). the other concern i had was am i supposed to put my finished seq to tape by playing seq or exporting a movie then play it in a seq , while i crash record it to tape?

Do not judge quality issues in Premiere’s monitor window. Only an external monitor can display fields correctly.

[Daniel Unkenholz] “while i crash record it to tape?”

Not sure what you mean by “crash”, you can export your final sequence back to DV tape once the sequence is rendered. It happens in real time.

so whats the correct step to recording to my beta deck?
hit spacebar and hit record on deck or export my seq then put it on timeline and play it the hit record on deck? iv’e been told both ways, but i noticed that a pan with wierd interlaced video it renders better if i export a movie then play it back?

When you finish editing a sequence, hit the Enter key to render preview files for the sequence, then start the deck recording and play the timeline out to tape.
