  • Broadcast monitor as a grading monitor solution?

    Hey folks,
I’m fairly new to grading, coming from “still” photo manipulation & retouch world.
Doing grading more and more now, small projects but i enjoy it and feel like expanding in that direction.

So i already got a mac pro 12core 46GB Ram, SSD, Nvidia GPU, can’t remember the model, i think 4000. Got 2 24″ eizo coloredge screens that i use daily for my retouch work. And a Tangent Wave surface, though its not really integrated into my workflow just now. Oh, and i do also have BM decklink HD or 4K (can’t remember right now and machine is at my office) installed.

    So to the point:
I would like to have a grading monitor working with MB decklink card, othewise it was kinda waist of $$$.
I can’t afford a “true” grading monitor as prices seem to be out my league. So I thought a broadcast monitor is a second best solution.
OR having an OLED monitor and a LUT box. Im just not sure it will pay off in the end to go for latest solution, but I might be way off here and please correct me if I am 🙂

So local media shop has an offer on TV logic LVM-232W model for 3000$ at the moment.
I see that FSI has a BM210 model for 2500$ available online.
I will most likely will have to pay a huge import tax if FSI is shipped from outside EU, which i suppose they do.
So what do you think of TV logic LVM-232W? Worth the money?
Am i doing an unnecessary “move” by going for such expensive(for me) solution?
Most of my work is for web, some may or may not end up in broadcasting.

Open for your ideas, thoughts, advises and thankful in advance.

    Cheers
    Nurali

Check with FSI as they have EU service center and offices now.
