  Broadcast colors and more…

  I’m in the throws of trying to get a HDCam master tape made for PBS broadcast. I have not found anyone who can take my show in Vegas and work from there.

  1. If you know anyone who can take my program in Vegas and create HDCam tapes, I’d sure like to know.
  2. I’m working with someone now who can only make the HDCam tapes by having me create .MOV files and go from there. That’s OK but I’d like to find someone experienced in Vegas who can sort of take over this role from start to finish. Any recommendations?
  3. Broadcast color… Vegas seems to use a default which puts my broadcast colors at about 105 when I look at them with a scope using “Studio RGB”. When I change the scope settings to 7.5 IRE the colors go down to 100. My question is twofold: To make the colors broadcast safe what settings should I use. Secondly, should I use the broadcast fiter or by changing the preferences in the scope from RGB to 7.5 (which seems to bring it down to safe levels) does that do the same thing as using the filter.

  I’m not new at editing with Vegas but am new to taking it to the next level for broadcast. Sure could use some advice. Thanks.
