For DVD, the MPEG2 encoder will clip anything above 100 and below 0 so if you are Ok with your highlights getting clipped into solid white color, then I guess you don’t have to worry about it. If you want to retain all of the details you recorded, you’ll need to do some color correction which is more than just slapping on the Broadcast Colors filter.
For YouTube or other PC/Internet video, it doesn’t matter.
