Bringing in my clips unlinked
Hello.
Using Premier for the first time on a project and something that is sticking me at the moment is that my clips are automatically linked (video and audio) when I edit them into the sequence. This is actually slowing me down and I would like to edit them in unlinked. Is there anything I can do to set the default editing of a clip to unlinked?

If you’re using CS4 you can pull your clip into the source window, trim it (or not), then at the bottom of the window you can either drag and drop the little “film icon” to the timeline which will only bring down the video, or drag and drop the “speaker” icon to the timeline which will only place the audio.
My CS4 version has this option, I don’t know about the other versions.
