  • Brightness flicker?

I’m doing a fairly simple animation (mostly scaling and rotating) using only elements from an Illustrator PDF file in AE 6.5. It all looks fine (even in a RAM preview), but when I render it, the brightness of the frame flickers randomly and constantly. I’ve never really encountered this problem before. I rendered in several different codecs with no change. Anyone have any thoughts?

Sounds to me you might have field domionance problem. It’s hard to say without seeing it but I’ve run into this before when either my field wasn’t set right and/or my artwork had really fine lines. There are many ways to fix this that largely depend on what you are outputting to.

Thanks for the reply, Chuck. I’m outputting to Quicktime (to post on the web). There aren’t really a lot of fine lines in the piece, I wouldn’t say. This is probably a stupid question, but would field dominance be an issue even if there aren’t any video clips involved in the piece?
