  • Brightness and contrast problems between Mac and PC on youtube.

    Hi out there.

I’ve just finished a black and white musicvideo in FCP. But when I upload it to youtube for testing it looks extremely different on my PC to when I watch it on a Mac. On my PC the blacks look grey, and it’s much brighter than when I watch it on a Mac. The look on Mac is closest to the look it had in FCP and the look I want.

I’ve tried to change the brightness and contrast so it look acceptable on a PC, but then it’s way too dark on a Mac.

Is there anything I can do about this? It’s very frustrating.

I’ve been uploading the uncompressed mov file that I exported from FCP via Export -> QuickTime movie. I chose the ‘current settings’. I’ve done this because I want the best quality on youtube – is that correct? I’m supposed to deliver a “HD file that is about 1.5 GB”.

    Please help.
