I filmed a subject wearing a black sweater. It was to dark and looks solid black with no detail. I used a levels adjustment to brighten the blacks, it brought out some detail, but it’s causing major flicker/ ants-crawling over the black sweater. Is there a way to avoid this?

Getting proper exposure when you shoot is pretty much the only way around this. Increasing the levels too much in post will reveal digital artifacts.
