    Hey there,

I have a very dark video and I’m out of ideas how could this be brightening in Vegas Pro. My best result was around “Brightness and Contrast” but the outcome was densely greased with red (and other colors) noises, which I was then unable to reduce at all.

I attached a small part of the video here. Do you have any idea how to achieve the best result?

    Thanks for any help!

[Tobin Bell] ” My best result was around “Brightness and Contrast””

STEP AWAY FROM THE B&C FX!!

    OK, here’s my attempt:

Left side is corrected. Right side is nothing.

This seems quite good for my needs!

Could you elaborate what did you set in the rest of the used plugins? I mean which noise filter settings used in Neat, which ColorFast and Corrector presets, etc.

Here’s the Veg file for you to interrogate!

I was unsuccess to obtain NewBlue’s ColorFast 2 plugin so unfortunately the *.veg file failed to load every filters after the Neat Video one. Thank you anyway, Graham.

Well, you can get a long way forward with the others. Just delete the CF2 node. But you can see the settings for NV and the rest? Yes? Why can’t you get the CF2?

Well, because the price $99 is a bit expensive for me at the moment and I couldn’t find any other method to obtain it.

The .veg stops loading halfway at the point when it doesn’t find the CF2 plugin. From there, it doesn’t load any further plugin, so I see only the first two FX in the “Video Event FX” window: the “Levels” and the “Neat Video” (Neat is set to use the “Default” filter settings (60% lumi, 100% chrom, 0% sharp))

Sure, I understand. However CF has got me back some great footage, when you can afford it do try. Does NB run a demo for you to use? What I could do, if you’re still interested, is I could delete the CF Plug here, and create a new VEG. Are you interested in that?

Yes, it would be nice if you could remove the CF2 part.
I have the basic ColorFast NB plugin however, I don’t know if it’s good to replace with.

Sure. On the case. Give me 5 minutes.

    No ColorFast2

OK, now remember you WILL need to adjust the other plugs to compensate – yeah?
