Since I upgraded to CS3, I have several questions I need help, but they seem going nowhere. Therefore, I thought I would call Adobe, well, it took >1hr hold time to talk to a live person, then, he transferred me and then another 10min hold… My question was not answered due to certain circumstances (partially my fault). Now I am hesitate to call them again. Do they have a support email? I don’t seem to be able to find.

Bridge Q: Does it support HD preview? H.264 or .m2t? How to add new file type association in Bridge?

OnLocation: Preview monitor does not work, everything else is fine. Not a dual mon. situation. (1G RAM, Acer Aspire 5004 AMD 100G HDD)

    Thanks,
    Perry

    Hello Perry,

Adobe bridge should play back any Media if the codeds are on your system. M2T works, and so should Apple H.264 video files.

I am not sure what you mean by adding not file extensions to Bridge, it will play back all Media on your system.

I have not used Adobe on Location, before. What camera are you using with On-Location?

    Regards,

    Leo

As stated above, the M2T files play just fine in Bridge. On my system, they don’t preview properly in the bin, but the Preview window works OK.

I have tried a couple of different HDV cameras with OnLocation on two different laptops. The slower laptop was not even close to realtime. but the other only displayed a slight delay.

Perhaps you need to provide the exact setup and steps you are taking.

No matter what I tried, I can’t get .m2t to play. What codec does Bridge use? Can users tell what codec for it to use?

I suggest that you download the Elecard player. It is a free trial, but after the trial expires, I believe it might leave it’s codec behind. I ended up buying it because it made it possible to still use my DVD player software and yet be able to use Ultra CS3 for HDV.

For some reason my DVD player software’s codec was interfering with Ultra CS3.

I installed Elecard Player, no help. I think Bridge is using its own codec? I already had CoreAVC codec installed, and it plays H.264 files with WM Player, KMPLayer or such just fine. I also have VLC which plays .m2t fine. But previewing in Bridge, I was only able to get stutter previews of MP4 files and only screen shot preview of .m2t files (Strangely, I am able to scrub the mini-timeline in preview to see the rest of the .m2t, just not able to play it; mp4 videos play stutter in preview, but at least it play, just no screen shots of what the video look like in preview windows.) I hope this is not too confusing.

P.s.: Before installing CoreAVC or any other codec, Bridge behaves exactly the same.

I would be inclined to remove all of the various players and see what happens.

By the way, which icon shows up in Bridge for the M2T?
