  • Breaks in extrusion texture?

Posted by Kentwolf on July 3, 2005 at 1:32 am

When extruding an object, I have no trouble mapping various media to each surface.

Can soneone please tell me, however, why would there be “breaks” in the Extrusion Texture, the area “around” the extruded object?

    What would cause this?

For example, I have Natural (wood) as the extrusion texture, but there are occasional breaks in the texture that *do* carry through to the final render.

Is there something specific that causes this?

    Thanks!

this is a known issue in that the mapped bitmap does not exactly fit the extruded area thus leaving a hole where the texture should belong on the extrusion. The key is to make the extrusion’s face match perfectly with the pixel dimention of the mapped face. There was a workaround that sort of fixed the problem but not completely.

I turned it in as a bug report over the winter. Still waiting for a resolution….
