Having moved from a Matrox Mini to the Decklink Studio, I find myself missing the breakout box. Is there a box compatible with the Studio card please?

    Thanks very much

I don’t believe there is a ‘box’ available for the Decklink Studio, however there is a rather large breakout cable. I was able to order the cable for a Decklink HD Extreme 3D card via Markertek for about $100. You may try calling them and see if they can get one for you.

Thanks. I’ve got the breakout cable. If possible, I would rather avoid having to go around the back of the Mac to change connections.

In that case, you may want to see about building a patch panel for the connections you need to frequently change, or your own custom breakout box.

I wish they would make an optional breakout box. Apart from the convenience, the weight of the breakout cable of the Decklink Studio 2, with all those connections, actually makes the card come unseated over time. I’ve managed to support it with a Rube Goldberg contraption, but I still have to periodically reseat it.

how much would you pay for a breakout box.
Would you pay $349 ? Would you pay $299 ? (this is what AJA charges).

Yep. I’d be ordering one right now at that price.
