    Hi all,

    I’m stuck.
How does one break up a master file in FCP using an EDL (or other list file) of the original edit for that master?

    To put this in context:
I have shot HD material and edited it in an SD timeline (using RT rendering), and exported it to an SD master to finish.

We have no need to do an HD grade (delivery is SD only), and want to keep the render time short for a very quick turn around.

So, I have imported the output SD master back into FCP, and now want to break it up along the original edit points, before sending it to Color…. is this possible?

I seem to remember someone showing me how to import an EDL and use it to set the cut points…. any help?

Failing that can you use Color to break a master file up into separate clips in it’s timeline, so they can be graded independently?

    Thanks!
