  • Breaking up a line

    Hello,

this is very basic, but since I’m new to the AE motion gfx design side, I just can’t find an efficient way to create what I need.

I would like to create a “line” (5-10px in height and 400px wide), let it fly in and eventually, break it up into e.g. 4 parts that will then drop down to the floor.

The flying in is fine but what would be the best way to create and break up the line? I would like to tread the line as a unity before it breaks up.

Stroke, Masks ….??? All your ideas are very welcome…

Many thanks and bye for now,

    /Harald

    Hello Dave,

many thanks for your input. In my thoughts I missed out the option of grouping them into one “layer”. In fact your solution seems a very good way of achieving my aim. Thanks! …just out of curiosity is it possible to split/cut masks in AE? Like one can do in Illustrator, or the like?

    Bye,

    /Harald

    Dave,

many thanks for your help. I’ll try the first version. I should work fine for what I want to do…

    Best,

    /Harald
