    Hey Everybody,

I’m trying to build what I’ve come to find out is referred to as a “ball robot”.

anyway, I’ve been able to break up my sphere in the sections that I want, however, when I render i’m getting seams where the section breaks are. I’m really trying to go for the look that the sphere is completely seamless, and then animates/transforms/opens. I was able to find an example of what I’m after in the link below.

I’ve tried disonnecting/splitting the polygons out into new objects and adding hypernurbs with some weighting, but no dice.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!
    Ryan

I would suggest you use two spheres: one whole and one cut up. Then keyframe the visibility of the whole sphere off and the cut up sphere on at the frame where the split is to occur.
