Break up in picture when watching on DVD
Hi All
Not sure if this has been posted before but in desperate need of help.
I filmed and edited a wedding using a PD170 and Final Cut Pro, my video appears fine on the computer and also appears fine on a standard def TV, however when I play it through a HDTV the video appears to break up and almost pixelate.
I have exported using ‘Quicktime Movie’ using current settings and have imported into DVD Studio. I have also used the quicktime file and ran it through compressor using Best Quality 90mins 16:9 and then imported into DVD studio same problem occurs.
Can anyone tell me if there is a way to rectify this?
Its really frustrating for me and my customer.

If it looks fine on a Standard Definition TV, there is absolutely nothing you can do to improve the quality. Video was shot, edited and delivered in SD and the image is being “blown up” on a large screen TV. That will degrade the picture.

Thank you for your response, that is what I feared. It looks ok on my HDTV, not perfect but watchable. Could there be an issue with the DVD player they have upscaling the video or is that wrong?
