brand new mac with3 monitors
Hi everyone,
I’m goig to buy a mac and I’m trying to do the righ configuration.
I have to big problems to solve:
1-I use 2x 24″ lcd monitor as work area. I have another monitor CRT Sony FW900 that i Would like to use as reference for final cut or color.
How can I do my connections? Which/How many graphic card I have to buy ?
2-I would like to implement ram memory. Wich kind of ram I have to buy?Thanks in advance

I believe FCP only likes having on graphics card. With a new Mac, you’ll have to connect one monitor to the DVI connection and the other to mini DVI with the adapter.
To connect your external monitor, you need something like a Kona card. Connect the monitor to the Kona card via SDI or HD-SDI, depending on whether your editing SD or HD.
I bought my RAM from OWC.

ATI 4870 for the two computer monitors.
AJA Kona or BMD card to drive the CRT. We run all AJA Kona 3’s here in our shop. The LHi is also an outstanding card.

Do you think that BMD Intensity pro can be OK for my intentions?
The other one AJA or BMD are out of budget for me.

Honestly no clue. We do not run any BMD products here.
