  Br-HD50 deck 6pin to 8pin

  So I just purchased a Mac Quad Core and they phased out the 6 pin ports. I bought a 6pin to 8 pin fire wire and plugged everything in and now Final Cut wont recognize my deck? Does anyone have the same problem or a solution?
