  • bouncing ball not rotating correctly

hi! I’m kinda new and couldn’t find anything on this. I’m doing the bouncing ball tutorial, and I can get the ball to bounce, using dynamics and all…but the rotation of the ball is wrong. How do I get the ball to rotate in the direction of the bounce? I know there are friction objects for particles, are there some for objects? I’m looking for help with the friction. thanks

It’s all in the settings for Rotational Mass and the two frictions Static and Dynamic (well, mostly dynamic in this case) You have to play with the settings to get what you want but here’s an example

    hi,

Im getting same problem here, but with a soft body. Changing dinamic or static, either in the softball or in the plane, seems not to make any effect. I cant try rotational mass as softbodies dont have this option. i also tried playing with drag fields, but it only made me feel i had no control.

    Any ideas?

by the way, when i try to give the soft body an initial force nothing happens but initial velocity works. It drives me crazy not knowing…

    thanks in advance.
