  • Bounce expression/technique for rotation?

Posted by Hunter Hempen on February 8, 2013 at 2:58 pm

    Greetings,

I’ve been scouring the internet for an C4D expression similar to the After Effects bounce expression, but I guess some people use other methods to achieve a vertical bounce through shaders and delays.

I can’t, however, find any way to bounce a word via rotation. In AE you could paste in the expression, and keyframing the X value (for example) would induce a rotational bounce.

Is there any method for this aside from keyframing rotation in C4D?

    Thanks,

    Hunter

An easy way is to use the Mograph effectors Plain and Delay. Tim Shetz has a tut here https://www.c4dtraining.com/blog/?p=34 that uses these for a movement bounce but it can just as easily do a rotation bounce. He’s using cloners but it can also work without cloners with the effectors used as deformers, just use the same settings for the Delay

Another option is to use the constraint tag’s spring constraint.
