  Boujou,After Effects and 3D text

  I’m making a quick video (english lesson) where our talent walks around a supermarket pointing out things in English, I wanted to try to use Boujou and some 3D text(or simple 3D shapes) to make it look a little more interesting. I was hoping to do this in AE if possible (although I do need a good excuse to get started in Maya), I do have Zaxwerks proanimator plug-in, I’ve also seen some other tutorials on making 3D text by duplicating layers over and over and messing with bevels,ect… Any idea on easiest workflow? Precomp duplicated layer 3D text and rasterize? Any help much appreciated.

  But if you’ll think I could get way better results in a true 3D program please say so.
