Boris Title 3D slow to load on 5.1.4
The Boris Title3D stock plugin has always been a bit of a hog in FCP, but I’ve noticed recently that it’s taking an unusually long amount of time to load up (15-20 seconds), which, as you can imagine, is incredibly frustrating when you are tweaking a title to get it just right.
Has anyone else had this problem? Know of a solution?

I read something recently–sorry, I don’t recall where–that said the speed of Boris opening was a function of the number of fonts you have installed.
Perhaps someone else can chime in on the subject of Boris and font management.

If you have a lot of fonts loaded on your machine, Title 3D will be slow to load the first time, but then should be faster each time after that. This is for each time you launch FCP.
If you use the Font Book to manage your fonts, you can greatly increase the speed of Title 3D.
