I use Boris RED a ton on both of my Avids so I put it on my new FCP system too. I love RED’s vector text that remains crisp no matter how you animate it and have never had a problem on my Avids but it looks downright crappy on my Final Cut. Edges of Impact fonts look totally crosshatched and stepped when they rotate in Z-axis. They actually look slightly better (which shouldn’t be the case) when I rasterize the text instead.

Any RED users seen this before? I gotta think it’s a FC setting I’m missing since I’m fairly new to FC and Macs.

Intel Mac w/FCS2, Kona LHe, RED 4.1, aquire DVCAM widescreen via SDI, capture and timeline set to 10-bit Uncompressed anamorphic.

Absolutley. I looks terrible, even via SDI, on my Sony MEU-WX1 LCD Production monitor and almost as bad on my Trinitron CRT monitor.
