We recently upgraded to the new versions of Mac OS X (Tiger) and Xpress Pro (4.8). Because the version of Boris Red (Avid FX ) we had would not work with the Tiger OS, we waited, patiently, for the Boris upgrade that would work. It came…we installed…and not surprisingly, there are problems. When we apply an Avid FX or Boris Red transition and render it, the video shifts (like it’s being scaled) from the beginning of the effect to the end (even when we render in green dot mode…we’re not using MOJO). We’ve contacted Boris and they’re blaming Avid. We’ve contacted Avid and they haven’t replied yet. We’re growing increasingly impatient. Anyone have any ideas? Anyone else having this problem?

    ANy help would be great!

We run Xpress Pro 4.8.1 on a Mac G4 running OS X Tiger

    THANKS!!

What about your effect aperture setting? I’ve read somewhere that Boris defaults to D1 (486), but without a mojo you’re working at DV (480) and I don’t think you can change that in Avid (General setting I believe). So I’d poke around the Boris for a preference that’ll let you work at DV height.
