    Boris RED crashes FCP 7

    Inside RED, I change the face layer to premultiplied-white.
    Then I open the image up in a new window, click vector trace tool and option shift drag the curser over the image.

    The new window always goes to the background while I am doing this, never allowing me to finish the vector trace, but it adds a spline layer to my timeline.

    I tried this several times, eventually RED froze up and I had to force quit FCP.

    I am running a Mac Pro, 2.66 GHz Quad Intel Xeon, 8GB RAM with FCP7

    Any insight would be helpful.

    Hi Laura,

    What happens if you try to perform the vector trace in the main comp window instead of a new window? If you haven’t tried that yet can you please give that a shot and let us know if RED exhibits the same behavior?
