Just installed CS5.5 onto a new PC with a Nvidia GTX 545 card. The CUDA acceleration appears to be working with Premiere Pro effects, but Boris Red 5.1 isn’t working.

I added a Red 5.1 transition between 2 video clips. I see the transition in the Red UI, so I believe I’ve applied it correctly.

When I play from the PPro timeline, the effect doesn’t occur. I tried rendering the transition, and PPro does actually stop and give me a dialog box that it’s rendering, but on playback it looks like a straight cut.

Should RED work with the Cuda engine? Does the fact that the GTX545 is not on Adobe’s official list of supported Cuda cards make a difference to Red? (It obviously doesn’t make a difference to PPro).

My old PC had an ATI Radeon card, so hardware acceleration wasn’t an issue and Red always worked fine.

A few machine stats if that tells anything:
    HP Pavillion HPE h8qe
Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit
    Intel i7-3930K (6 core, 3.2 mHz, 12 MB cache)
    12 GB RAM
1500 GB free space on scratch drive
    CS5.5 Production Premium

Thanks for any advice or help . . .

    Thanks Peter.
I wasn’t sure if this was one of those “everyone knows that won’t work,” or a problem with my setup.
    Dave
