Dragging a paint layer (a circle outline) into the production boundary of the particles system, I can see emerge particles only on the upper half of the circle: someone can tell me were is my mistake?

    Hi,

What happens as you drag through the timeline … do more particles appear?

Please feel free to send me the RED settings project (without media) and I’ll take a look at it. You can send that to me at peterm@borisfx.com.

    Thanks,

    Peter.

    Hi Eddo,

I’ve responded to you privately about this but so that we can help others in the Creative Cow community who may encounter this issue, here’s a description of the problem and the solution:

    • Problem:
a paint layer, used as a production foundry layer in the particle system filter within RED was unexpectedly being clipped horizontally and did not span the full size of the comp

    Solution:
    • the paint filter needed to have a media track in order to work as a Production Boundary layer
    • first create a new layer / track, then nest the paint track onto the face of this layer. Then use the new layer as the Production Boundary.

    Cheers,

    Peter.
