Boris Pan & Zoom for PPro
I see that BorisFX has released a plugin for PPro called Pan & Zoom ($199.) Anyone try it yet?
Given how many times a lot of editors (I know I sure do) use high-res stills in their work, this is an area that I think has been grossly ignored by pretty much all NLEs – Adobe included.
For years, I’ve used Canopus’ Imaginate and continue to this day. It never worked very well as a plugin directly on PPro’s timeline though so there have always been workflow challenges. Also hasn’t had an upgrade in years. It does a great quality job though – and does x/y and z rotations with just about any size image with the simpliest interface I’ve seen.
For $199 I’ll probably give it a try. This may be a very useful product that Boris has released. I suppose time will tell.

I haven’t tried it yet, but if you are interested check out the 1/2 price deal on http://www.digitaljuice.com. It’s a download-only version. I think the deal may be running for a few more days.

Thanks for the heads-up. I did see the special on Digital Juice. I’ve got loads of Juice on my shelves. Great stuff!
I did try Boris’s Pan and Zoom. I’ve been pretty impressed with the quality (when adjusting the settings properly) but it does take a load of render time. Also doesn’t allow for ‘Z’ access zooms. But, at 1/2 price, I think I’ll pull the trigger.
