Boris Match Move in Final Cut Pro X
Hi
I have a case to use this filter, but I really can’t figure it out.
Can anyone point me to a tutorial on how to use Boris Match Move on Final Cut Pro X?
I have googled, in fact I have spent the past two hours doing just that. All I can find are tutorials using Vegas, or old versions of Final Cut and I can’t get any sense out of them.
Any pointers would be really appreciated.

I wonder if you could offer some more advice. Basically the tracker is running like an absolute slug – I mean around half an hour to process 10%!
Are there any tips for increasing performance? I could be horribly under specced – I’m using an iMac i5 2.5gz with 8gb of ram. The clip is only 50 seconds long, at 720p and 59 fps. I tried to drop the framerate but if anything it seemed to make it slower.
On your video it was pretty much instantaneous – but you may have 32 cores, ssd, and 128gb of ram 🙂

In the “Playback” tab of the Final Cut Pro Preferences, using proxy media (once you’ve generated proxy media – File menu / choose “Transcode Media”) and/or setting the Playback Quality to “Better Performance” while tracking can help. The “Better Performance” setting is only relevant for realtime playback but the proxy media applies to all operations while the proxy setting is chosen. That screencapture movie was recorded on an iMac i7 2.93GHz with 8gigs RAM but I think it was tracking proxy media.

If you turn on motion-blur, you’ll watch the system come to a crawl if it’s set to a high quality level.
