Boris is offering an interesting metadata tool–anyone have any experience with it?
Posted by Chris Harlan on August 25, 2011 at 5:48 pmIt’s a video text search program for FCP 6/7, and eventually X.

August 25, 2011 at 5:55 pmIt looks like Boris Soundbite is powered by Nexidia — which used to power Get, before Get got gone.

August 25, 2011 at 6:16 pmAh, Get! I remember reading about get, and thinking I’d like to get Get, but then, as you say, Get was gone.
Did you try it at all? -

Did you try it at all?”Nexedia technology also powers Avid PhraseFind, and long before that, ScriptSync. So while I never used Get, I used the two Avid implementations, and I swear it looks like the darkest of magics. You will be amazed, and just a little frightened.
Having worked for Boris for several years, I can say that a combination of amazement and a little fear is just about right. 🙂
Kidding, Boris!
But definitely worth downloading the trial version.

August 25, 2011 at 7:12 pmWell, now. That’s interesting. Maybe after this project, I’ll download the trial PhraseFind and give it a try. Then, when available, I’ll give Boris a shot. I’m not quite sure which platform I’d want it to be on. Avid, I think.

August 26, 2011 at 10:32 pmSaw this demoed by Steve Kanter at LAFCPUG the other night and was blown away. Really very cool stuff that I could see being an incredible tool for the non-fiction editor…
Too bad I didn’t win the raffle with a copy!
