  • Boris FX lens flare – is the plugin render node capable?

Posted by Mark Jores on October 8, 2009 at 5:10 pm

    Hi there

I’m currently evaluating a trial copy of Boris FX Continuum lens Flare for After effects CS3. Does anyone know if the one plugin will work with extra render nodes in after effects or will I have to buy a plug-in for each render only machine ( we have four machines operating as render only nodes)?

I did test this & it didnt work with our render nodes, but I dont know if it is a limitation of the trial version of the plug-in (BCC6.0.3LensFlareUnit)

I also get strange artefacts in the lens flare with some comps in 16 or 32 bit rendering (like a bad colour burn effect), but this is not always happening!! Has anyone else had an issue with this?

    Any info gratefully received

    Regards

    Mark J

    Mark,

You would need to have each machine licensed. You can install the trial for 14 days on each machine if you want to test it out.

If you have a number of machines you want licensed I would suggest contacting Boris FX Sales at 888 772 6747.

As far as your render issue can you post an image of what you are seeing? Also your system specs and graphics card?
