Given the choice, which would you prefer: Boris Continuum Complete 7 or NewBlue packages for Vegas Pro 10? Both offer many of the same types filters. Some offer different filters. Add to that all the Sony standard filters, is it an overkill to have both BCC7 and NB?

    Thanks.

[Ken Bennett] “Add to that all the Sony standard filters, is it an overkill to have both BCC7 and NB?”

Well what do you need that the standard Sony filters don’t give you? That’s the real question.

Look at the differences between NewBlue and BCC7 and see if they are things you need. BCC7 with it’s 150+ plug-ins has additional functionality like 3D Text, 3D Extrusion, 3D Deformers, Light Wrap, Motion Tracking, Rain and Snow Generators, etc. that may be important to you or not. On the other hand, NewBlue has a much simpler interface with most FX having a handful of knobs that are easy to understand as apposed to BBC7 having 10’s of parameters to control.

The simpler interface of NB may be more desirable to some, while the ultimate control of BCC7 may be more desirable to others. It’s really up to you to choose which one you prefer and what unique features are important to you. Both will get you a lot of additional functionality so it’s a tough call.

Both have downloadable trials. I would set aside an afternoon and download both and play with them and see which appeals to you more.

I use both BCC 7 and Some NewBlue FX plugins.

Regarding Chroma Keying, both are far superior to the Vegas Chroma keyer supplied, with the BCC7 being the better of the 2.

I watched the demo of the chroma keyer for BCC7 and was very inpressed with the results. Also some of the 3D text stuff. But I do have several NB packages already. So, what ya gonna do?
