Boris Avid FX / Continuum will not install
Having problems getting Boris Avid FX 5.8 / Continuum to install. Installed Avid 4.0.5 upgrade from 3.0.1. I had Continuum with the old version, but not FX. When I try to install FX, it gets about 90% through the install, then a ‘feature Transfer error’ window pops up:
Feature: Avid FX for AVX2
Component: DLL AVX
File: %ProgramFiles%\
Error: Access DeniedI’ve got two AVX folders in the Media Composer folder – could that be the problem?
Same thing with Contnuum. I’ve uninstalled Continuum, but still no love.
Thoughts?

Hi Jon,
Sounds more like an Avid FX installer issue than anything to do with the Boris products. Please feel free to send a message into our support group (support@borisfx.com) and if one of the technicians can assist you they will certainly do so, however, they may have to bump the issue over to Avid and have one of their techs troubleshoot the installer issue.

This happens because of an incorrect registry entry for the AVX plug-ins folder. Below are the instructions to fix the issue. They are slightly different if you are on a 64 bit OS.
1.Go to Start: Run.
2.Type regedit in there.
3.Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AvidTechnology\AVX
Plug-ins.
4.Change the value of AVX2Directory from:
%ProgramFiles%\Avid\AVX2_Plug-Ins to:
C:\Program Files\Avid\AVX2_Plug-InsOr on a 64 bit OS
1.Go to Start: Run.
2.Type regedit in there.
3.Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE> Software> Wow6432Node>
Avid Technology>AVX
4.Change the value of AVX2Directory from:
%ProgramFiles%\Avid\AVX2_Plug-Ins to:
C:\Program Files(x86)\Avid\AVX2_Plug-InsPlease let me know if this helps.
