I raised a clip’s audio levels in the Audio Mixer as high as it would let me, but it’s still not quite loud enough. How can I boost the levels even further?

It’s a simple enough question.. but I can’t seem to figure it out.

    Thanks in advance 🙂

I’d try using the compression effect in the audiosuite tool. Go to tools>audiosuite. When the window opens, you’ll see a pulldown menu – select compression. Click on the square effect icon in the middle of the window, and another window will open. You don’t really need to mess with anything except gain. You can preview and make adjustments from this window.

What I usually do is crank it to about 10 in the Mixer, then I’ll use automation gain to boost it a bit more. If that’s still too low, then I’ll double the track and adjust further. If that’s still too low, then I call the audio guy and give him an earful.
