    Boomerang effect

    Hi, I am currently working on After Effects CS3. While animating one of my graphics( psd file) in AE , I get this popular boomerang effect trouble.
    My problem is that on frame 1, I keyed my graphic with following values :
    187.0, -294.0, 1151.0
    On frame 2, I keyed the graphic with following values:
    187.0, -294.0, 991.0

    Only ‘Z’ position has been assigned different values in both frames.

    On ‘X’ position the value is 187.0 on both frames. But in between both these frames ‘X’ value keeps on changing ( which I don’t want to have).

    I can’t use “Toggle hold keyframe” , because if do this on frame 1, then along with ‘X’ position ‘Z’ position would also get hold.

    What should I do if I want to hold only ‘X’ position on frame 1 and not ‘Z’ position along with it.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Try right clicking on the trouble keyframes and select “Keyframe Interpolation”.
    Change “Temporal” and “Spatial” Interpolation to “Linear”.

    If you have rogue movement that can correct it.

    Thank you Jason Mettler and Dave LaRonde.I changed “Temporal” and “Spatial” Interpolation to “Linear” and got rid of my problem.
