    Hello people,

I’m working on a shot where I have to remove a Boompole that’s there almost for the entire shot (as you can see in the file I uploaded)

    https://reels.creativecow.net/film/boompole-shot

I tried Mocha removal, Wire Removal (BCC and simple) I tried stamping it out and drawing over it… anything I do doesn’t seem good enough
I got all the takes and unfortunately in all the damn takes the boompole is there so I don’t have even one clean plate to use.

    Any suggestions?

The camera is pretty much locked off when the boom moves into the shot. My choices in order of preference would be –
    (1) mask off good areas to create a patch and overlay it on boom

    (2) use the clone tool

    (3) scale/re-position past it.

The biggest problem is the moving leaves, but you probably could mask out a patch of leaves from the same clip and put that on top of the boom. Remember to feather the mask to get rid of sharp corners.

Thanks guys for all the replies,
So finally I did use the remove tool in Mocha, I got bad results but I use it instead of the original clip
Then I cut out a patch of leaves and looped it and using the simple tracker I tracked it on top of the original clip
I blurred the final result a bit and made sure the blur reduces together with the focus pulling.
the result is okay but it’s not even close to perfect

So if you got any other suggestions I’d love to hear it

    Thank you
