I’m having a heck of a time trying to get my head around the Boom 5 emitter. It’s perfect for what I need except it’s too much “boom”. I just need to tone it down a bit, but it’s seems so complex, I don’t even know where to start. I just need one basic dirty boom and a bit of dirt flying up and coming down. Any guidance is much appreciated.

This one’s tough to edit because there are keyframes all over the place to get the effect.

In the Number graph (which is set to 200% or so), start it with a value of 0. At frame 18 set another 0 keyframe, and then at frame 21, set a key with a value of 100. At frame 22, bring it back down to 0. That should launch just one trail of dirt up into the air, playing around with that basic idea should give you the effect you’re looking for.
