For all people interested in DSLR filming,
I am from Germany and just finished my final Bachelor Report about DSLR filming. As part of the report I wrote a book about DSLR advantages, disadvantages, production workflow and more..
“4 Months later. DSLR filming, a new and innovative way of producing high class films or just another camera selling gimmick? For my final Bachelor Report I have tried to find out what this is all about. Camera overviews, buying guide, workflow development and more. This book is for people who are new in the DSLR filming business or decided to switch from standard DV cameras as well as indy filmmakers.
Furthermore I try to give advice of how to improve your filming experience with additional and useful gear. It can be extremely expensive to get to a professional level of filming – so why not built your own custom camera rigs? Some example designs I developed and produced for this specific purpose are shown in an extra chapter.
Finally I want to guide you briefly through the whole process of producing a short film, in my case a music video, and point out differences and problems of DSLR specific filming. Common steps like offloading your files, editing workflow and post production steps like color correction and special effects are extended by highlighting the importance of packaging and marketing.”
I made it public for everybody to purchase, so that more people takes notice of this revolutionary new way of producing films. Unfortunately because I do not have the money to publish it through normal bookstores, I choosed blurb.com which is a little pricy but at least an option.
It also features a practical example, which I produced along with my report.
