As you may or may not know, Mr. Robert Altman passed away Monday evening. I, for one would like to wish him many happy trails and thank him for his investment in what we commonly call the human condition. Very few people have had more of an impact on our business, and even fewer have had such an open and giving relationship with the world. His view of life from the other side will be missed.

On a personal level, Mr. Altman’s advice on subjects ranging from lighting to film stock to seasons and talent are cherrished lessons that will forever be a part of my career and idology going forward.

He received his overdue Lifetime Achievement Award this year, but his real lifetime achievement is visible in the many films that he helped to fashion into works of art, through the eyes of an artists.

He may be gone but his soul and vision will live on forever preserved in all his films.

I personally find my generation been blessed with great master storytellers and visionaries.

Something to write and tell the grandkids about one day.

    May he rest in peace.
