Body Shape Highlight
Hi,
I’m currently working on a sports video. And I’m trying to create an effect where by only the body shape of the athletes are captured. The end result should look like only colored body-shaped figures moving around.
I tried applying a mask onto the athlete and using motion tracking to move the mask and removing the surrounding and replacing it with another separate color. But it doesn’t seem to work too well. The motion tracking doesn’t work too great and I can’t seem to get the mask to change accordingly.
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Yikes, you need to Roto, so go to the top of the page and click on:

This script has only been available for a few months, so it’s not commonly used, but it does work.
Anyway you do it, it is most generally consider it the least liked tasks done in AE.

Aye,
It did come to my mind to using blue/green screens and then chroma keying and junk mattes and stuff like that. Think I’ll take that approach =)
But in any case, thanks for the responses and I learnt yet another tool in my toolkit now!
