Bob, as per your suggestion, I purchased the “Rosetta Stone” from Addenda, and it works perfectly, thank you very much.
However, I have a new problem. When I try to input the down converted signal from the M10U through the IO, I get a
garbage signal out. I can connect the tape deck S-video to my stadard def monitor and no problem, but if I hook it up to the IO
all I get is hash. Same with component. Does this sound familiar?No doubt some sort of pilot error, and all suggestions appreciated.

I answer so many posts, I have no idea of what you are talking about. What is a M10U – it aint’ an AJA converter – is it a VTR ? If you are using FCP, you must go into the Audio/Video Settings/Capture Presets OR the Easy Setups to select the input that you want (for composite, component, SDI, S-Video).
Give me more info on your system, and I will advise if I can. while you are at it, download the AJA Pro I/O Control panel – this will help you confirm if your I/O is ok, or if it’s just an FCP menu setting.bob zelin
