    Hi,
I need some help with the editing of a 8 mm film. We shot the whole film with 8 mm camera’s and digitalized the footage.
Now it’s a bmp sequence, but i don’t really now the best way to approach it in Final Cut Pro.
Someone tolled me you should edit with a converted smaller sized copy and once finished apply your project on the real master footage.
Does anyone have experience with this?

An image sequence can be turned into a quicktime by opening it in quicktime player (click on ‘open image sequence) – be sure to select the appropriate frame rate.

Once that is done, you can use Compressor to make this footage the appropriate size (SD or HD etc.) and a proper editing codec – I recommend ProRes for FCP use. This will ensure your footage plays nicely with FCP and fits with any other footage you may use – and easily outputs to DVD, Blu-Ray, tape etc…
