    Hello,

I´ve just installed the new Beta driver from BMD.
After installing the package a window pops up and says that “BMDStreamingFirmwareUpdater” has been closed…classical Mac OS message. But when clicking on “ignore” it pops up again and again.
Any suggestions how to solve this issue. It makes working a bit complicated anyway… :-/

The MacOS is 10.5.8 and it´s a Decklink HD Extreme card inside the MacPro 2×2.66.

    Greetings
    Rafael

Yup…sorry about that. This is a funky installer issue that we are working on.

Basically that firmware updater is for the H264 ProRecorder, which is only supported under 10.6.x or higher. But the installer doesn’t handle this gracefully and so this keeps running and crashing.

So delete the BMDStreamingAPI.bundle file from the:
    /Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/Streaming/ folder.

This file only affects the H264 recorder and will not bother the decklink board at all.

We will be correcting this installer issue in an upcoming update.

    Thank you for the info.
So, upgrading to OS X 10.6.x would help, too?

Yup….upgrading to 10.6.x would also stop this from happening.

I have a similar issue: in the system log the following message is appended every 10 seconds:

    Aug 9 23:14:49 Winnie-Poes-Mac-Pro com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[148] (com.blackmagic-design.streaming.BMDStreamingFirmwareUpdater[515]): posix_spawn(“/Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/Streaming/BMDStreamingAPI.bundle/Contents/Resources/BMDStreamingFirmwareUpdater.app/Contents/MacOS/BMDStreamingFirmwareUpdater”, …): No such file or directory
    Aug 9 23:14:49 Winnie-Poes-Mac-Pro com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[148] (com.blackmagic-design.streaming.BMDStreamingFirmwareUpdater[515]): Exited with exit code: 1

No popups on screen and all BMD software seems to run fine, only my system log gets cluttered a lot this way.

I’m running 10.6.8 and have the following BMD software installed:
    – Decklink SDI driver
    – HDLink Pro Utility
    – Resolve 8 lite

I tried to delete the file that you mentioned but in /Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design there is no streaming directory.

Any other way to stop respawning the firmware updater?

    Thanks, Winfried
