BMD files don’t play in WMP
This has been a long standing problem and I can’t seem to solve it. My primary compositing app is Combustion and I haven’t had the option to render 8 bit BMD files for a while. I think since decklink 5.* drivers. So I’m apparently rendering out 10 bit files only which I wouldn’t think would be a problem but Windows Media Player and Combustion cannot read them. Premiere reads them fine.

You should be able to right click on the clip within Premiere, and select properties dialog. That should display whether 10 bit or 8 bit, and other attributes the clips you are exporting from combustion are set to. Also Media Player may not be configured to play what ever those properties are.
