I wanted to know if I can change the 2k BMCC in to a full frame view with a speedbooster.

So that I can basically use EF full frame lenses on the 2.5 k camera and for instance get 24mm view with a 24 mm lens.

    Thats very Clear…..

OK, now I have a great full frame EF lens, the Canon 24-70mm 2.8.

Can I still use it on the 2.5K BMCC? It seems to work great!

Why don’t you mention which lens mount your BMCC has.

EF mount. Sorry, how could I forget to mention that.

Then of course the 24-70mm EF lens can be mounted to the EF mount of the BMCC.

I shoot most often with a Canon 17-55mm EF lens.

Yes, but I would be shooting with a full frame lens (24-70mm 2.8) on a cropped frame camera (BMCC).

I was hoping for some kind of adapter that can change the view to full frame. So I can see full frame through the lens. But you already answered that, thanks.

Now is there any big disadvantage in image quality while shooting with a full frame lens (24-70mm 2.8) on a cropped frame camera (BMCC)???

Focal length of focal length regardless of the sensor size. A 24-70mm Full frame sized lens when mounted on a smaller sensor camera (like for example a mirco four thirds sensor) will create the same composed image and quality as 24-70mm lens formatted for the smaller sensor size (like the m4/3 example).

Smaller format lenses can’t be mounted to larger sensor camera as the image they project to the sensor is smaller, designer for their camera format’s smaller sensor.

Any loss in quality, wouldn’t be due the the lens, but physical limitations of technology on the smaller sensor.

As a video professional, consider reading up on lens optics.
