Blurry Export Still Image From HD Video
Hey, I was wondering if someone else has experienced this? I am currently using CS4 Premiere Pro, and whenever I am exporting a still image, the image is blurred and reduced quality compared to the preview…aka very difficult to find a clean still image from the video. I have been playing around with the export settings without any luck.
Interestingly, when I save the same frame as a photoshop file from After Effects, the image is just as crystal clear as from the preview. Any thoughts on how to get a clean still image in Adobe Premiere Pro?

Hi Andrew,
Is the image actually “soft”, or rather are you seeing “interlacing” issues which show as alternating horizontal lines through areas of motion in the still?
I know CS4 had an oddball way of exporting stills, different than CS3 or CS5 – you had to go through Adobe Media Encoder. If you have Photoshop, apply the “Deinterlace” filter to the still if it is the interlacing you are seeing.

deinterlace? can I still do this is the video is already completed?
that is the issue I am havingo with premiere cs5. it was all adjusted NTSC as someone recomended. Have no idea what that is, all I know is I can’t save quicktime H264 as seen in some tutorials. I don’t get those options. Yous see I have no idea what I am talking about, pretty knew on this. I am a photographer, so really concerned the images don’t look cristal clear as they are. can you explain on how to deinterlace in photoshop please? and, will this solve the issue? I have more trouble with the stills with ken burns effect but even the stills that do not have any motion look like you explained.
