    Got a quick query

I’m having to do a short edit in after effects using a WMV for footage (my hands are tied with using WMV unfortunately) – then exporting it as apple uncompressed or animation. When I bring the render back in to AE & lay it over the original footage to check, I can see I’m getting some slight blurring of details & a bit of frame shifting throughout – like its slightly out of sync, like due to deinterlacing though no deinterlacing is being done.

Is this a common problem with using heavilly compressed WMV footage as a source or am I expecting too much from the apple none & animation codecs?

The source footage is a 15 fps 256 kbps wmv with compression artifacts. The project is for web broadcast & nothing is interlaced. None or animation codecs are set at max quality.

Ah but I’m not trying to improve it, just edit it slightly (I removed 5 secs of someone talking about something irrelevant) – the video becomes slightly blurred after rendering it out in AE to Animation codec or None, so I am still losing what fine details I have left at this stage when I shouldnt be…its meant to be lossless at this point.

I’m used to working with blackmagic or sheer compressed footage & not noticed this happening.

I was wondering if this was an inevitable side effect of using WMV footage or the Apple codecs I’m using?
